FAQ’s

Why is it so hot?

The high temperature is a key component in hot yoga as it helps to warm up the muscles, increase flexibility, and promote sweating to release toxins from the body. The heat also allows for a deeper stretch and helps prevent injury during the practice. Additionally, the warmth can create a meditative environment by focusing the mind and calming the nervous system.

What do I need to bring?

All you need is a mat, towel, & water bottle!

What should I wear?

Clothing that is comfortable to YOU!

Wear light, breathable clothes like tank tops, sports bras, shorts, or leggings! Bring a towel and change of clothes for sweat absorption.

What if I have never done yoga before?

That’s OK! If you have never done yoga before, don't worry. At Union Yoga Studio, we welcome beginners with open arms. Our instructors are experienced in guiding students of all levels, including those who are completely new to yoga. Just come to the studio wearing comfortable clothing and bring an open mind.

We recommend arriving a few minutes early to speak with the instructor about any concerns or questions you may have.

Remember, yoga is a personal journey, so feel free to move at your own pace and listen to your body.

We look forward to seeing you on the mat.

Hot Room Etiquette

  1. Arrive Early: Plan to get to the studio 10-15 minutes before class starts to settle in. Once class starts, no late entries will be allowed.

  2. Maintain Quiet & Respect Space: Keep conversations low-key to help others focus and relax. Please be mindful of the space where you set up your mat and towel!

  3. No Phone Zone: Unplug during your practice. If you are expecting any emergency calls, let the teacher know prior to class!

  4. Dress Comfortably: Choose breathable, moisture-wicking attire that allows for freedom of movement.

  5. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before and after class to avoid dehydration. Stay away from heavy meals about 2-3 hours before class!

  6. Be Conscious of Scents & Sweats: Practice good hygiene and avoid strong fragrances that can be intensified in the heat. Please clean up any large puddles left after class!

  7. Clean Up After Yourself: Wipe down your mat, large sweat puddles and any equipment used, and take your belongings with you.

At Union Yoga Studio, we strive to create a welcoming, comfortable, and positive atmosphere for everyone, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain this environment.
